This hymn makes my heart sore every time I play it. I can hardly play it without singing it at the top of lungs! :) But then I can't sing because I get so choked up with emotion! I'm overwhelmed with the sacrificial love of my Saviour, for one as worthless as me!
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how he could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.
How marvelous, how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!
For me it was in the garden
He prayed, "Not my will, but thine;"
He had no tears for his own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.
How marvelous, how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them his very own;
He bore my burden to Calv'ry,
And suffered and died alone.
How marvelous, how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
'Twill be my joy thro' the ages
To sing of his love for me.
How marvelous, how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be;
How marvelous, how wonderful!
Is my Savior's love for me!

you're not worthless to God, so you shouldn't be to yourself
Hello. And Bye.
No problem choking up over a great hymn. We've all done it from time to time. If we aren't emotionally moved by such songs, we need to take a serious look at whether we're just going through the motions, and not paying enough attention to what we sing!
If you enjoy learning about the hymns we sing, I invite you to check out my daily blog on the subject, Wordwise Hymns. God bless.
