He ate and drank the precious words.
His spirit grew robust;
He knew no more that he was poor,
Nor that his frame was dust.
He danced along the dingy days,
And this bequest of wings
Was but a book. What liberty
A loosened spirit brings!
His spirit grew robust;
He knew no more that he was poor,
Nor that his frame was dust.
He danced along the dingy days,
And this bequest of wings
Was but a book. What liberty
A loosened spirit brings!

Love this quote ~ into my notebook it goes! ThanX for sharing.
So true. I'm reading a book right now about a man who went through high school, college, graduate school and became a secondary teacher...all without having learned to read. How "poor" he felt.
